The Boston Celtics are looking for Paul George to replicate his surprising playoff performances.
Paul George's integration remains a key talking point. The Celtics need him to be the player who unexpectedly stepped up during the postseason. His performance could be a major factor in their championship aspirations. Meanwhile, veteran forward Danilo Gallinari has continued to voice complaints about his former team, the LA Clippers, and the trade that sent George to Boston.
This external noise hasn't slowed the team's momentum on the court. The team's ability to bounce back quickly has been a positive sign.
Jayson Tatum has been openly discussing his partnership with Jaylen Brown, aiming to clear the air publicly. In a recent interview, Tatum stated, "I love that guy," directly addressing ongoing speculation. He also shed light on their dynamic, mentioning that their unique journey means "nobody has ever played together" quite like they have.
Tatum appeared on the Dan Patrick Show for a full interview on September 17, 2026, further discussing team chemistry. He even revealed he was "kind of excited" to see LeBron James join the Philadelphia 76ers, adding another layer to the Eastern Conference rivalry. Separately, Tatum talked about the hardest part of his Achilles recovery, which he said wasn't the physical aspect.
Derrick White's resurgence is gaining attention, providing the Celtics with valuable backcourt depth and scoring. The potential contribution of center Mitchell Robinson is also a point of discussion as the team ramps up for camp. How he fits defensively and on the boards will be important.
Rookie watch is also in full effect. Chris Cenac is already being viewed as a potential steal after early showings. Expectations are being set for the 2026-2027 NBA rookies on the Celtics roster, with one clear goal outlined for each first-year player. Whispers are also circulating around guard Devin Carter and his potential role.
The sheer volume of scoring in their wins-147, 133, and 144 points-demonstrates their offensive ceiling. Maintaining this level while integrating key players like Paul George will define their upcoming schedule. Fans can track the team's progress and upcoming challenges on our schedule page.
The Celtics are in a period of assessment and integration. How these elements coalesce will determine their trajectory for the rest of the season.
